Online Constitution Updated

Taking a break from the CFCL trade fest (complete with running Critique Commentary from the Bull Braintrust), I'm happy to announce that the CFCL's online Constitution has received its first update in quite a while.

For the past couple years, we've been operating under a set of rules (including a whole new salary/contract notation) that wasn't fully reflected in the published Constitution. I've been spending my time lately updating the Constitution to reflect our current rule set, the results are now posted online: http://home.comcast.net/~dmahlan/constitution/const-fm.htm

In particular, be sure to check out Article VII., which provides a key to deciphering all those numbers, letters, and symbols that appear with the salaries on our rosters.  I've also added other notes and explanations as needed where the EC has clarified issues over the past couple years.

More revisions/clarifications may be coming, as Rich and Michael are currently reviewing the Constitution for other potential revisions, but the CFCL has waited long enough for a key to the contract indicators so I didn't want to wait to get it posted.

Finally, note that the PDF version of the Constitution that is available in the Download Center is still the old version.  This will be updated within a few days - I will post a notice when it is ready.

If you discover any problems with the Constitution, have trouble understanding any of the additions, or find anything missing, please let the Executive Committee know.

Rebels, Killers (Bentel y Bentel) complete deal

Not happy trading one stud reliever from the Dodgers tonight, Dem Rebels purged their roster of the second Boy of Summer. Dem Rebels traded George Sherrill (.16 11+) to the Killers for Derek Lowe (.17 11+) and the Killers 8th round pick.

The Killers have picked up their second reliever in this short trading season and Dem Rebels have revamped their pitching staff in the hopes of moving closer to the first division.

The Trades Just Keep on Flowing

Mo's Red Hots and Dem Rebels completed a deal today that frees up some salary for the Rebels and solidifies the bullpen for the Hots.

Dem Rebels trade Jonathon Broxton (.17 11+) to the Red Hots for J.A. Happ (.01 11+), Leo Nunez (.01 11+) and six poker lessons.

Winter Waiver 2010 - Round 4

For the second week in a row, the Candy Colored Clowns jump in to take a player out of the Copperfields grasp, this time snagging Arthur Rhodes for the recently departed Kevin Kouzmanoff. Even though Kouzmanoff was traded to the A's, he is available to be claimed and therefore we will have a Round 5, ending Thursday, January 21st at 3pm.

Twin Killer Jump in the Pool

The Candy Colored Clowns continued their Trade Road through all CFCL cities by stopping in Greeneville, SC to conduct a one for one with new owner Mike Bentel.

The Clowns trade reliever Rafael Bentancourt (.05 11+) to the Killers for infielder Clint Barmes (.03 11+).

Oddly, no rotation picks were involved.

Second Trade of the Year

In an effort to acquire every Cincinnati prospect and every rotation pick third round and higher, the Candy Colored Clowns announces a deal with the Revenge.

Clowns trade stud closer Francisco Cordero and their 10th round pick for Todd Frazier and the Revenge 3rd round pick.

Winter Waiver 2010 - Round 3

One claim to guarantee a Round 4. Showing buyer's remorse from Round 1:

The deadline for claiming Rhodes is Sunday, January 17th at 3pm.
