K Wood Day Reminder

As you rush to make your last minute roster changes for the weekend, remember that today (May 6th) is K Wood Day.  The anniversary of Kerry Wood striking out 20 Houston Astros back in 1998 (the game Owner Emeritus David Mahlan ALMOST saw).

Quick reminder on the rules.  The team that records the most strikeouts (not by their hitters - effectively leaving Dem Rebels out of the running) by the pitchers on their ACTIVE roster will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to MLB.com.

Results will be posted later tonight or tomorrow morning.  Good luck!

Swing and Revenge Trade

Trade to report, but it can't be said any better than the two teams involved.

Revenge:  The Revenge and the Swing have agreed to swap:

Danny Espinosa for Alex Guerrero.

It's the little things...

Swing:  The Swing agree to the trade (and with the sentiment). We are pleased to welcome Alex Guerrero to our reserve roster and our DL, where he will find plenty of company.

First Trade of the 2016 Season

The first trade of the 2016 season has been completed and . . . hey!  here's a surprise - it involves the Clowns.

For some reason the Clowns wanted to pick up a Chicago Cub so they approached the Beatniks and the result was:

Clowns trade Brandon Drury (.01 18+) to the Beatniks in exchange for Javier Baez (.05 18+).

Roster Cut and Draft Day Information

The cuts are in!  The numbers have been crunched.  Full Draft Prep is on.

Interesting information below.  One team has more money to spend than the GNP of most small nations.  Two .50 players were kept. Lots of big names tossed back in the pool and a fair amount of Winter Waiver players kept.

Below are some of the particulars of the cuts.  For rosters, click on the link on the right hand side or give our OnRoto Master a little time and he'll have the rosters updated there.

Deadline Deal

With four days remaining until the Roster Freeze Deadline, the Beatniks and Line pulled off a deal.

The Beatniks traded the alliterative (Beatniks words) Freddie Freeman (.34 17+) and Shawn Kelley (.05 17+) to the Line in exchange for a trove of minor leaguers:  Billy McKinney (.02 Mx), Aaron Blair (.10 Mx) and Albert Almora (.05 Mx).

Rumor has it the Beatniks wouldn't complete the deal unless Cliff Lee was thrown in.  Once they were convinced the Killers have Lee, the Beatniks completed the deal quickly and then consulted their CFCL rolodex for the number to the Killers front office.
