Trade Flurry

Actually it's not so much a flurry of activity as opposed to a friggin' avalanche.

Five teams have coordinated to make four trades.  Without further ado:

Ruffins trade Jayson Werth (.16 15+), Hanley Ramirez (.21 15+), Jonathon Lucroy (.14 15+), David Wright (.27 14) and Wil Venable (.04 14) to the Revenge for Nolan Arenado (.02 15+), Marcel Ozuna (.02 15+), Charlie Blackmon (.10 16+), Corey Seager (.05 Mx) and their 9th pick.

I believe this is the first time ever that David Wright has played a NL game for anyone other than the Ruffins.

Candy Colored Clowns trade Travis D'Arnaud (.10 16+) to the Swing for Anthony Recker (.01 16+) and Eddie Butler (.05 Mx).

Candy Colored Clowns trade Jake DeGrom (.05 16+) and Yovanni Gallardo (.07 16+) to the Bulls for Todd Frazier (.10 14)

Revenge trade Hector Rondon (.07 15+) and Nick Wittgren (.02 Mx) to the Bulls for Justin Morneau (.15 16+)

That's it!  Deadline has passed.  Good luck to everyone trying to move up!

Revenge Staying Step For Step

The Revenge, not letting the Line get more than a couple of hours ahead of them, stayed step for step by acquiring some rotational help from the DoorMatts.

The Revenge sent hot hitting secondbaseman, Kolton Wong (.02 16+) and Pirate pitching prospect Nick Kingham (.02 Mx) to the DoorMatts in exchange for a pair of Jordans, Zimmerman (.12 14!) and Walden (.10 16+).

Amazingly, this did not deplete the DoorMatts roster of Jordans, only cut it in half (Schafer & Lyles remain).

With teams doing everything they can to win this year, I submit to you it will be very difficult to identify an obvious GM of the Year.

Cincinnati connection continues

Working to fine tune their rosters until just before the deadline, the Clowns and Line pulled off another trade.

A straight swap of relievers sent Pat Neshek (.05 16+) to the Line for Ken Giles (.05 16+).

Stay tuned to this local station for the latest in CFCL trades!

IFAB and Trade Deadline Reminder

Don't forget, tomorrow (the day after the MLB trade deadline) the CFCL has the Interleague Free Agent Bid Day.  In order to not have to wait until Sunday to snatch up all the talented players coming over from the American League (so far just Justin Masterson), a few years ago we created the IFAB Day, wherein you are allowed (to the limit of your remaining FAAB) to bid on not only players coming over from the AL, but ANY player in the Free Agent Pool.

Deadline for bids for 2014 is 3pm, August 1st.

Also, the CFCL Trade Deadline is for 2014 is Friday, August 1st, noon Central time.  It's always August 1st, noon Central time, but for 2014 it's Friday.  If you have any last minute deals you're trying to wrap up, keep in mind that all involved teams have to report the deal to the Commission by Friday noon, WITH ASSOCIATE MOVES in order for it to be valid.

Three Way Trade, for the most part

A deal involving three teams was announced today.

The Kenndoza Line, trying to secure their third CFCL Championship, traded Rafael Montero (.02 Mx) and their 15th pick to the Candy Colored Clowns for their 6th and 13th picks.

The Line then traded the picks they acquired from the Clowns (6 & 13), along with Christian Yelich (.10 15+), Danny Espinosa (.10 16+) and Trevor Rosenthal (.01 15+) to the Ruffins in exchange for Zach Grienke (.18 15+), Mat Latos (.21 15+), Emelio Bonifacio (.04 16+) and the Ruffins 15th pick.
