FAAB Balances and Weekend Deadlines

Knowing that there are likely plenty of teams out there preparing to empty their FAAB coffers in the hopes of landing Scotty Pods this Sunday, here are the current FAAB balances for all teams:
  • Morkertzuma's Revenge - .68
  • David's Copperfields - .33
  • Twin Killers - .60
  • DoorMatts - .21
  • Dem Rebels - .55
  • Graging Bulls - .65
  • David's Ruffins - .45
  • Candy Colored Clowns - .30
  • Mo's Red Hots - .46
  • Kenndoza Line - .43
I pulled these balances directly from the Excel roster sheet n preparation for IFAB Day, that is available in the Download Center of the CFCL Internet Headquarters.  If you feel you have a different amount available to spend, contact me ASAP so we can investigate.  Remember that on the Excel rosters you can hover your cursor over the amount and a pop-up window will display a list of the free agents you've acquired during the season to day and the amount you paid for each.

As noted previously, IFAB Day will coincide with our regular weekly FAAB date/time this year, which reduces the novelty quite a bit.  Here's a recap on this weekend's action (all times Central):

Sat July 31 (3:00 PM) - MLB Trading Deadline
Sun August 1 (Noon) - CFCL Trading Deadline
Sun August 1 (3:00 PM) - Sunday and IFAB Day Free Agent Bids Due

Clowns At It Again

The Candy Colored Clowns continued their tour of potential CFCL trading partners, this time matching up with the Copperfields for a deal.

In a trade just completed, the Clowns acquired currently-injured second baseman Chase Utley (.40 11+) for often-injured outfielder Carlos Beltran (.19 12+).

The Copperfields become the seventh team the Clowns have dealt with this year, leaving just the DoorMatts and Twin Killers yet undealt with.

The Trade Deadline Approacheth

As noted by Rich in earlier blog posts and in e-mail, the 2010 CFCL Trade Deadline is Noon Central Time on Sunday August 1.  All phone calls or e-mails reporting trades must be timestamped by then or earlier in order to make the cut.  In addition to the particulars of the deal, those e-mails and phone calls must also include any associated moves required to bring your roster into compliance with roster size, positional, and salary cap requirements.

A couple reminders/tips to help ensure your Trade Deadline Day reporting goes smoothly:
  • Remember that Rich is out of town - send e-mails reporting all trades and associated moves to both David M. and Michael C, with a copy to Rich.
  • If you're trading Rotation Draft picks, be sure to check out the Draft Pick Tracker to ensure that both you and your trading partner actually own the picks you think you do.  I recently asked everyone to ensure that the tracker was correct and I received notification of only one change, so the Tracker should accurately reflect the current distribution of Draft picks.
  • Remember that no trade is official until ALL involved parties report it to the Front Office.  If that means you have to harrass your trading partners until they send their notification e-mails, so be it.
  • It goes without saying that you should ensure you'll be able to field a legal roster (size/positions/salary) at the completion of each deal, but at this time of year it wouldn't be a bad idea to make sure your trading partner has all his ducks in a row in terms of associated moves.  You don't want to work on getting your final blockbuster into place, report it to the Front Office, then discover later that your trading parter was left one OF short.
  • If you have any questions, ask...
Happy dealing!

FAAB Report - Wireless Style

Sorry for the late report, guys.  When I volunteered to cover for Rich, I didn't realize I'd be pressed into driving a van of 7 Boy Scouts to summer camp in the north woods of Wisconsin at 6:00 AM, a 14-hour round trip.  No problem, I told myself, I'll be on my way back home by the 3:00 deadline, so I'll bring along my laptop and hook up with one of the many wi-fi hotspots along Interstate 43.

Unfortunately, it seems public wireless internet hasn't made it to central Wisconsin, so I've had to travel nearly to Milwaukee to find an establishment where I could connect to the rest of the world.

So without further ado, direct from the Starbucks in Grafton, Wisconsin (where they disappointingly stopped brewing Bold about an hour ago), here are today's FAAB results:

Kenley Jansen
.05 Copperfields (Charlie Morton)

Joel Peralta
.05 Red Hots (Garrett Anderson)

Jon Jay
.05 Ruffins (open spot)
Jon Jay was already owned by the DoorMatts

Taylor Bucholtz
.05 Ruffins (open spot)
