Trade Flurry
Actually it's not so much a flurry of activity as opposed to a friggin' avalanche.
Five teams have coordinated to make four trades. Without further ado:
Ruffins trade Jayson Werth (.16 15+), Hanley Ramirez (.21 15+), Jonathon Lucroy (.14 15+), David Wright (.27 14) and Wil Venable (.04 14) to the Revenge for Nolan Arenado (.02 15+), Marcel Ozuna (.02 15+), Charlie Blackmon (.10 16+), Corey Seager (.05 Mx) and their 9th pick.
I believe this is the first time ever that David Wright has played a NL game for anyone other than the Ruffins.
Candy Colored Clowns trade Travis D'Arnaud (.10 16+) to the Swing for Anthony Recker (.01 16+) and Eddie Butler (.05 Mx).
Candy Colored Clowns trade Jake DeGrom (.05 16+) and Yovanni Gallardo (.07 16+) to the Bulls for Todd Frazier (.10 14)
Revenge trade Hector Rondon (.07 15+) and Nick Wittgren (.02 Mx) to the Bulls for Justin Morneau (.15 16+)
That's it! Deadline has passed. Good luck to everyone trying to move up!

Revenge and Swing Make Deal
Morkertzuma's Revenge, doing what it can to make up the 5.5 points they lag behind the Kenndoza Line, swapped pitching with the Swing today.
The Revenge sent minor league stud Archie Bradley (.05 Mx) and Nathan Eovaldi (.15 16+) along with their 7th and 8th round picks to the Swing in exchange for the newly minted A's, Jeff Samardzija (.06 15!) and Jason Hammel (.05 16+).
With eight legitimate pitching points in play and within reach of the Revenge now, the sweating has begun in Cincinnati.

The Swing wins K-Wood Day!
We have reached the first Special Day of the year. K-Wood Day, honoring Kerry Wood's 20 strikeout performance against the Houston Astros, celebrates the CFCL team that had the most strikeouts from their active roster. And what a pathetic collective performance it was. Not one TEAM could outperform Kerry's INDIVIDUAL performance 16 years ago. But The Swing came close, notching 17 strikeouts to take home the prize. They will be receiving a e-gift card from mlb.com in their InBox soon.
Interestingly, the Bulls had a chance to win. Strategically they benched Edwin Jackson while he pitched against the White Sox. Normally a good move, except that Jackson came through with a Quality Start . . . and nine strikeouts, all on reserve. The nine strikeouts would have given the Bulls enough to overtake The Swing.
Here are the results of all the teams compared to Kerry Wood.
KERRY WOOD - 20
The Swing - 17
Twin Killers - 15
Kenndoza Line - 10
Graging Bulls - 10
Dem Rebels - 9
Beatnicks - 7
Revenge - 3
Clowns - 2
DoorMatts - 0
Ruffins - 0
Wood had more strikeouts on May 6th, 1998 than the Beatnicks, Revenge, Clowns, DoorMatts and Ruffins did last night combined.

The Swing Make Their First Move
Making their first roster move in CFCL history, The Swing exercised their right to nullify the Long Term Contracts of Brian McCann and Darwin Barney. Not surprisingly they chose to honor the contract of Clayton Kershaw.
For those of you wondering, yes, we're still planning on having the CFCL Banquet. There has just been a HUGE delay in putting together the award ballot and for that I apologize. I am hoping to start chipping away at it over the next week or two.

New Addition to the CFCL
At the conclusion of the 2013, Stranger Danger resigned and that left the CFCL with the job of finding a new owner. Well, mission accomplished. After going through a rigorous interview process, Matt Barriball and Pat Chesnut were accepted as the owners of the 45 team in CFCL history.
Showing incredible dedication, the two (who will soon be profiled in an exclusive interview with the Monroe Doctrine) immediately came up with a name for their franchise and are currently hard at work on their owner profile.
The name you ask? They've harkened back to a time we all cherish on the little league diamond and incorporated their names and then put a twist of coolness to it. We proudly introduce:
Hey Patta Matta Swing
Conventionally they will be known as The Swing.
Welcome to the CFCL Pat and Matt!
