Back at Full Strength
The CFCL is back at its compliment of 12 franchises as Tim Morkert, Michael Moore, and Michael Coulter are set to join the ranks of the CFCL as the 36th, 37th, and 38th owners in the leagues 25-year history.

The three new owners were among 8 people to express interest in the open positions, and went up against two other candidates in a Final Five competition for the three spots.

The teams will get their initial rosters in the coming weeks by selecting from those players previously owned by the Lambchops, Da Paul Meisters, and Splendid Splinters. We're hoping to hold this winter draft "live" and hold it at a time and place where some of the current CFCLers can attend to meet the new guys.

Michael, Tim, and Michael welcome to the CFCL, guys!

Draft Day - Last Call
We're getting ready to set Sunday March 30 as Draft Day 2008. We'll give it to the end of the week for people to raise objections. If I don't hear from anyone that there's a problem with the 30th, we'll call it official -- assuming the room is available for us, of course.

Rule Changes and Entrance Fee for 2008
The Executive Committee will be preparing their recommendations on the proposed rule changes for 2008. Once they are set, a ballot for voting by the entire league will be distributed, so keep an eye on your e-mail.

Part of that ballot will be the voting for the Fee Escalation as specified in the Constitution, which calls for a vote to be held at least every other year on increasing the current entrance fee by $5 per team. Since the Fee Escalator Clause was adopted in 2002, the CFCL owners have never voted to raise fees.

First Pitch Forum in March
Ron Shandler's First Pitch Forum has become something of an un-official meeting place for CFCL owners in recent years. The Chicago forum this year has been scheduled for March 2. If you're interested in attending, be sure to make a note on your calendar.
